You have probably been led to believe that computers make no mistakes. In fact, they make all kinds of mistakes – and the worst kinds don’t even get noticed. We think the Computer has solved all our problems – when it has only make them worse.
This morning, I will describe the errors any computer makes during its normal operations – which it can recover from gracefully, it if is properly programmed. A big if, as you probably already know.
I am studying the Java programming language – which is part of a platform that provides many services. One of these services are the tutorials provided by Oracle – that you can see here.
If you spend any time at all on this problem, you will quickly notice that this is a difficult subject – and one that strains my old mind.
I will probably not try to understand this – but just note that solutions exist, and minds better than mine can use them.
