This, in my opinion, is not the right question – it should be “What part of the Valley is hype – and which part is real?”
This is not easy, because in the Valley – hype seems a good as gold – billions of dollars of it. The Millennials are so used to this fast money – they are not interested in the real thing – and doubt its existence.
The real thing requires some thinking – some programming expertise – and some exposure to how the software economy really works.
To which, almost everyone says “I don’t wanna know about it!” That instantly dooms them to oblivion.
