An American in a Strange Land

NY Times Magazine

After more than a decade away, a foreign correspondent
comes back to take stock of his divided homeland.

It took me awhile to read this, because it’s so comprehensive. He traveled all over the States, working hard to understand his country. Just reading him, made me tired myself.

But he missed one point – most Americans are not interested in anything – and never read the Times, or much of anything else.

This is a strange land.
