Microsoft used to have the bad habit of promising much more than they could deliver. And the promise of .NET was, quite simply, anything anyone could possibly want for their Software Development projects.
But plenty of companies had been burned by Microsoft – and didn’t buy it. They thought Microsoft would take their money, and they would get little for it. Now, twenty years later, Microsoft has sobered up, gotten its act straight – and it is now possible to say what .NET really is.
I am taking a Udemy course about this right now – and I can tell you it is fantastic stuff – especially their Visual Studio IDE, which is probably the best in the business.
