Good Person, Consciously – Bad Person, Unconsciously

I continue to read Is It All in Your Head?: True Stories of Imaginary Illness

The author relates the extreme reluctance everyone (including doctors) has in accepting psychosomatic illness.

Reading her stories – and she is an excellent story-teller – helped me understant behavior that used to baffle me. People can be the best of people – and the worst of people. The same persons!

This is easy to understand, if you accept the simultaneous existence of the conscious mind and the unconscious mind. That sometimes house diametrically opposite personalities.

This makes our lives more complicated, to say the least. But unless we understand this possibility – we can die.

I have seen this happen quite a few times – usually the husband ends up dead, and the wife cannot understand why.
