I saw this, over and over, in Silicon Valley in the Nineties. To me, nothing could have been more obvious.
But I saw, to my amazement, that this was not obvious to anyone else. They could see this was wrong, or that was wrong – but could not see the big picture. Why? Because the big picture was so bad, they did not want to see it.
They could see one thing – to keep a job, they had to fit in – and not be critical of their business, or of Business itself.
When I refer to “Business” I mean any organization – such as a government agency, a school, a religion, or a prison. All are more interested in themselves, than anything else. To put this another way – any organization is superior to the people in it – or those effected by it.
